QUEER - Photo Book
Objective
Creating a photo book that encapsulates the queer nightlife around Cincinnati, especially in the going out scene. Taking you on a ride through a night out in the club bumping it with others apart of the LGBTQ+ community.
Benchmarking + Inspiration
Here are some of the photos that I used as benchmarking grounds and or took inspiration from that exuded the vibes for what I wanted this photo book to evoke! I really wanted to utilize the flash and almost get sort of candid moments throughout.
Photography
The photos were taken at multiple queer owned nightclubs around Cincinnati, alongside queer house shows locally around Clifton. Using a Rebel T7 Canon camera and a flash extender on top, to capture a lot of these moments in a single frame.
After taking 450+ photos, it had to be narrowed down to only 20 in the book, and a front and back cover. This was rather difficult as I had so many promising photos, but in the end I'm very happy with my selection. Some of the photos below are my favorites and some even got to be featured in the photo book.
Final Composition
Below are some of my favorite pages from the final composition, as they evoke the general vibe I wanted to bring. I'm so fortunate to have so many people in this community and that so many people were willing to participate in these images as well! In the first image, it showcases the front cover and the back cover (from left to right).
